Tiburon

In the wake of a waterfront home renovation, the clients yearned for a landscape that whispered of distant lands and cherished memories. Inspired by their life in Japan and travels through Europe, they sought to infuse their outdoor sanctuary with echoes of cultural richness and timeless elegance.

At the threshold of their abode, we wove a tapestry of welcoming gestures—a custom-designed bench, reminiscent of a traditional 'genkan', beckoning guests to pause and take in the beauty that lies beyond. As they cross the threshold, they are met by a metal gate inspired by the delicate intricacy of 'shoji' screens, a nod to the refined simplicity of Japanese design.

In the back garden, we set out to distill the essence of a Mediterranean olive grove—a place of peace and abundance. Here, amidst oversize pots brimming with established olives, the air is redolent with the scent of sun-warmed earth and fragrant herbs. New paving stones lead the way through this verdant oasis, while raised herb beds invite contemplation and connection with the natural world.

In crafting this landscape, we were guided by a deep reverence for the earth and a commitment to sustainability. Every element, from the choice of plantings to the design of the entryway, was imbued with the spirit of environmental consciousness, honoring the delicate balance between human habitation and the natural world.

As the clients step into their rejuvenated outdoor haven, they are reminded not only of the beauty that surrounds them but also of the profound connection between culture, nature, and the human spirit. And in this harmonious convergence, they find solace, inspiration, and a sense of belonging that transcends borders and spans generations.
