Oakland

Perched atop a hill, a designer couple entrusted us with transforming their sanctuary into a haven of renewal and connection. We embarked on a journey to reclaim the land, anchoring the hillside with native plants and extending livable space with a paved deck and permeable gravel area.

Nature's power and fragility were evident as five pine trees fell, prompting us to plant three Coast Live Oaks—a symbol of resilience. Amidst the garden, a cutting garden blooms, promising new beginnings, while raised planters overflow with herbs, nourishing body and soul alike.

For us, this project was more than a renovation—it was a labor of love, a testament to collaboration with nature. As we stand atop the hill, we're reminded of our interconnectedness with all living things and our responsibility to tread lightly upon the earth.
